WHEN GERRARD WILL LEAVE RANGERS REVEALED

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has been nothing short of fanstastic since he took the managerial job at Scottish Premiership giants Rangers at the start of last season. The former Liverpool skipper was the coach of one of the youth teams at Anfield before he left his boyhood club to take the Rangers job. Steven Gerrard and his Rangers players started the season well in the Scottish top flight last term as they battledCeltic for the title race beforefading away towards the end of the season to hand arch rivals Celtic a ninth straight title in the Scottish Premiership.

Unlike last season when they faded away in the Scottish Premiership title race, Steven Gerrard and his Rangers players have stayed in the title race into the final months of the season and are massive favourites to win the league title for the first time in over a decade. Rangers have opened a 19-point lead over Celtic after the two teams met in the Old Firm Derby at the weekend. Rangers beat Celtic 1-0 away from home to take a big step towards the title though their rivals still have three games in hand. Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard were teammates at Liverpool for almost four years and the Spaniard has been talking about the performance of Steven Gerrard as the Rangers boss.

Fernando Torres told Record Sport that Steven Gerrard will want to dominate Scottish football by winning several trophies for Rangers before returning to his beloved Liverpool. Fernando Torres expects Steven Gerrard to take charge of the Liverpool team in the future but he doesn’t expect it to be after the ex-Liverpool skipper has won the league title with Rangers once. Fernando Torres has joined Liverpool’s European Cup-winning skipper Phil Thompson in backing Steven Gerrard for the Liverpool job after current boss Jurgen Klopp leaves at the end of his contract.
