Sturridge has not been without a club for over one year since his contract at Turkish Super League team Trabzonspor was mutually cancelled on March 2. The England international had his Trabzonspor contract cancelled by mutual consent on the same day of the announcement of his four-month ban by the English FA. He was banned for breaching betting rules.

Ex-Chelsea, Manchester City and West Brom attacker Sturridge signed for Trabzonspor in the Turkish top flight on a free transfer after the expiration of his Liverpool contract in the summer of 2019. He had an attacking return of seven goals in 16 matches for the Turkish team.

Sturridge was at Liverpool for over six years having joined the Reds in January 2013 from Premier League rivals Chelsea. He was a teammate of Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge before he left to sign for the Merseyside giants. He scored 67 goals in 160 matches for Liverpool during his time at the club including the best return of 24 during the 2013/14 campaign as the Reds came close to ending their title drought.

Liverpool were on course to win the Premier League title under then manager Brendan Rodgers until things fell apart in the final three games. In the end, the Reds were piped to the league title by Manchester City.

31-year-old Sturridge has been able to transform his body to the surprise of several football fans after he shared a photo of his body on social media at the end of last month.

Fernando Torres also had a similar body transformation earlier in the year as football fans were stunned at the remarkable body transformation undergone by the retired Spanish football player.
