TORRES IS KEY TO CHELSEA

Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires has said that Fernando Torres returning to scoring fashion once again is very key to the club.

Fernando Torres recently scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea, which was also his first hat-trick after nearly 3 years.

His last hat-trick was against Hull city back in 2009. Ramires, who scored a vital goal against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, reckons that Fernando Torres returning to scoring form is extremely important for the club given that it provides a belief for the other players that they can beat anyone with such a player in their ranks.

Even though Ramires did not have the opportunity to play in the match against QPR during the weekend from the start, he at least was on the pitch to witness Fernando Torres score the hat-trick. The Spaniard has been having a difficult time at Chelsea ever since his £ 50 million move from Liverpool, but in recent weeks, he has been showing signs of recovery.

The 28-year-old forward has always stressed that he has not forgotten how to finish, and many have regarded that it is always been a confidence thing. Now, it has proven to be the case. Torres scored the wonderful hat-trick against QPR with the confidence gained from a goal at the Camp Nou.

“The best thing about Chelsea? Our confidence has grown and we have Fernando Torres scoring again. Now we can beat anyone and we showed that at Camp Nou [in the Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona]. For me it’s the game of the season because I won’t be able to play the Champions League final in Munich and I want to win a title this season. We have now entered the decisive phase of the season and we are achieving a lot more than many people believed,” said Ramires.
